Installation Tips #1 CHOOSING THE CORRECT SINK FOR YOUR APPLICATION To avoid confusion later on, the Sink is the whole thing - the bowl or bowls and drainer. Check the depth of the existing worktop (front to back). The common size is 600mm. Take into account you may have tiles on the wall, which will make this measurement slightly smaller. Check the thickness of the worktop, usually 30mm or 40mm. Check the overall size of your existing sink, (this measurement is the visible overall size as viewed from the top of the sink). Measure the width - left to right, and the depth - front to back. It is usually possible to fit a slightly larger sink by cutting out more of the worktop, but this must be checked out accurately. Check the number of bowls your existing sink has i.e. 1 bowl, 1.5 bowls, 2 bowls, or 2.5 bowl Check which side of the Bowl the drainer is on. Measure the sink base unit (the base unit that the bowl/bowls of the sink are sitting in). Standard sink bases are usually 600mm wide overall with one door, or 1000mm overall with two doors. (Please take note if there is a working drawer under the drainer of the sink on double base units). Other size base units may have been used as the sink base, so just measure the overall size of this unit. This information is most important particularly if changing from one bowl to more than one bowl. Make a note of what is to the left and right of the sink base
unit, i.e. another base unit with or without drawer or an appliance. It is important to know where the existing sink sits in the worktop relative to the position of the sink base. When measuring and assessing the feasibility of fitting a new sink into an existing worktop it is almost impossible to give us too much information. We are always prepared to help with professional advice based on accurate information given. After purchasing the correct sink for your application, follow
the advice given in the sections headed - Installation tips #2
