Before
Use, Care and maintenance of your Perrin & Rowe Tap
After
installation turn on the hot and cold water supplies
to the tap and check carefully for leaks.
(do not at this stage turn on the actual tap)
"It is essential that the tap
is commissioned properly"
With a biflow spout put a towel over the spout and slowly turn
on the cold side of the tap, (the towel stops the water and air
from the pipe spluttering all over the place) do not be tempted
to turn off the tap in the first few seconds - let it run for
approximately 30 seconds in order to flush through the pipework
to and through the tap, the reasons for this are that particles
of solder may have been left in the pipework or pieces of rust,
grit or limescale may have been dislodged when altering the pipework.
For a mono spout with an aerator fitted it is advisable to remove
the aerator before flushing the system through - the fine mesh
does not allow particles to pass through.
FAILURE TO FLUSH THE SYSTEM THROUGH PROPERLY CAN RESULT IN THE NEW TAP
BEING DAMAGED
ALL
PERRIN & ROWE TAPS ARE WATER TESTED BEFORE LEAVING
THE FACTORY
PLEASE
NOTE - DAMAGED CERAMIC DISKS FROM FAILURE TO FLUSH THE SYSTEM
THROUGH PROPERLY, MAY NOT BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURERS
GUARANTEE
The
maximum temperature for the Hot water supply to the tap is
85°C. The minimum recommended pressure is 0.5 bar or
7.5 psi and maximum pressure of 5 bar or 60 psi. For effective
rinse operation both installation pressures should be a minimum
of 1 bar or 14.5 psi. Ideal performance will be gained when
pressures are equal and above 3 bar or 45 psi.
If further building work is being carried out in the vicinity of the
Tap, it should be covered to prevent paint, tile adhesive etc. from damaging
the surface, this is particularly important for finishes other than chrome.
Quarter turn ceramic valves are standard in all the Perrin & Rowe products,
the flow from FULLY OFF to FULLY ON is achieved by rotating the handles
a quarter of a turn anti-clockwise, or in the case of levers, a quarter
turn forwards. The fittings themselves require little routine maintenance
beyond the occasional cleaning of the plated or painted finish with a
soft cloth and warm soapy water.
DO
NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE PROPRIETARY ABRASIVE LIQUIDS,
POWDERS, OR SCOURING PADS TO CLEAN THE TAP.
Single flow spouts are fitted with an aerator in the nozzle, this may
need occasional cleaning, especially in hard water areas. This is accomplished
by removing the aerator and leaving it to soak overnight in citric acid
(vinegar or lime juice.)
DO NOT USE CHEMICAL DESCALING LIQUIDS FOR THIS PURPOSE.
