To reduce the volume of food waste being collected and dumped at landfill sites, some Local Authorities are now promoting the use of Waste Disposal Units for the disposal of food products in domestic kitchens.

As an example - "Sink Your Waste" is a scheme being promoted jointly by Herefordshire Council and Worcestershire County Council, they are offering cash rebates of £20.00 when spending up to £100.00, £50.00 when spending £100.00 - £200.00 and £80.00 when spending over £200.00 on the purchase and installation of Waste Disposal Units. Contact your local council, they may not be offering an incentive/rebate payment scheme as yet, but there would be no harm in asking and quoting the Herefordshire Council and Worcestershire County Council scheme.
